What are you and your husband studying here at the University?

We are doing our PhDs in Poultry Science department. We are from India. Mohit and I want to pursue our career in research. He came here to the U.S. in 2015 for his second master’s in Poultry Science at Mississippi State University. Later, in 2016 I joined him for my PhD here at UARK in the Poultry Science department.

How did you and your husband meet?

We were doing our Masters study together in GADVASU, Ludhiana in India. We happened to meet in a university library in second year of our program. Mohit was pursuing his M.V.Sc (masters) in Veterinary Public Health and Epidemiology while I was doing my M.V.Sc in Veterinary Pathology. Meanwhile I got state government job as veterinary surgeon and Mohit moved to USA. Later, I resigned my government job and joined this university.

What are some of the more unexpected things about living in Arkansas that you’ve experienced so far?

Fall colors, snow fall, beautiful campus and staff and of course friends.

What do you think of Fayetteville and the campus?

We like our department. It has wonderful faculty and research staff, highly equipped with modern technologies. We also like Fayetteville walking trails, botanical garden, farmer market, and events that happen at the town hall. It has been a wonderful experience living in Fayetteville. Mohit has just recently moved from Starkville and he likes Fayetteville very much. There is plenty of thing to do during weekends and offdays. We like living in a no. 1 university town.
