MHEFI Call for Scholarships
The Material Handling Education Foundation, Inc. (MHEFI) will offer scholarship award opportunities to students who are committed to studying material handling, supply chain and logistics for the 2018/2019 academic term. Scholarship awards range from $1,500 to $6,000 and are made up of funds from the Foundation and the Howard Bernstein Industrial Distribution Scholarship Program. One application allows students to compete for multiple scholarships offered by the Foundation.

Point Foundation Scholarships for LGBTQ Students
Point Foundation’s scholarship for LGBTQ undergraduate and graduate students is now open! The application period for our 2018-2019 higher education scholarships opened November 1 and remains open until January 29, 2017.

DOE Solar Energy Innovators Program Scholarship
The purpose of the Solar Energy Innovators Program is to enable selected applicants to conduct practical research on innovative solutions to the challenges faced by electric utilities, energy service providers, and electric public utility commissions (PUCs) as the deployment of solar energy, as well as other distributed energy resources (DERs), increase on the electrical grid.
Selected applicants will be a research participant for up to two years at a Host Institution on one or more topics related to the integration of solar energy. The applicant must identify a Host Institution and potential mentor at a utility, energy service provider, or PUC currently conducting research in an area related to the integration of solar energy onto the electricity grid.

New Career Exploration and Planning Tool for the Humanities and Social Sciences
ImaginePhD is a free online career exploration and planning tool for PhD students and postdoctoral scholars in the humanities and social sciences. ImaginePhD allows users to assess their career-related skills, interests, and values and to explore careers appropriate to their disciplines. The tool includes a goal setting application that enables users to map out next steps for career and professional development to achieve their goals.
Reminders
De-Stressing Dissertation Week Coming December 4-8
The Graduate Student Council (GSC) and the Graduate School have collaborated to provide a week of de-stressing for all graduate students from Monday December 4th through Friday December 8th.
We will have a visit from the k-9 officers from the UAPD for some puppy petting, an are to record thank you videos, a photo booth for those end-of-semester selfies and a dissertation advice wall, as well as yoga and other stress-relieving activities. Stay tuned to for more specifics on each event.
